Padistan is a warm, loving bear who finds himself at sixteen having to leave his family and friends and go in search of work in order to help support the family and his struggling father, Jacub. His journey brings him a mixture of danger and wonderful surprises.

Jacub, Padistan's father, is a native bear of Bearvolia and was orphaned when only a young bear. While working on Baron Luets estate in Bearvolia, he met Padistan's Mum Xsenia, when she arrived as a tutor for the Baron's grandchildren.

Xsenia was born in a small forest area of Cuprina close to the border of Bulgaria. Her parents were moved on frequently during the many conflicts in Eastern Europe, and eventually, they settled in Bearvolia, where she met and married Jacub Sepp.

Professor. Cornelius Bearliston originates from the borders of Moldavia, Eastern Europe. Graduating in his early life from the Lech University in Moldavia, he is now an elderly professor in The Bearvolia Forest and has tutored Padistan throughout his school years.

Bearvolia is a district in the forest regions of Beardiquestan Eastern Europe, whose borders cross with Bulgaria and Romania. The Luet estate provides a sanctuary in a worn torn Eastern Europe inhabited by bears that have fled from these conflicts. But the estate is due to be sold, and that cherished peace could all come to an end.
